And the data that feeds all of it is the bottleneck. The first era of AI was trained on a copy of the internet, and that copy is spent. The next era has to be trained on the world itself, captured live, and the hardest part of that world to reach, real voice and sound in every language and condition, is exactly what no public dataset holds. The market for collecting and labeling it is set to reach about **17 billion dollars by 2030, growing 28.4% a year,** with audio its fastest-rising segment. And this demand does not fade as models improve. It grows. Better models get deployed into more languages, more places, and more specialized tasks, **each one requiring data that did not need to exist the day before.**

The speech data that exists is overwhelmingly English and a few dozen major languages, recorded by paid actors in quiet studios. It captures almost none of the way the world actually speaks. Today's models are already strong at the head of the distribution, clean speech, common phrases, quiet rooms, and they fail at the tail: overlapping voices, heavy accents, background noise, the alarm down the hall, the command shouted across a room. ### What we collect, and what we never do

The network captures only what each product needs and nothing more. **Silencio Sound Check collects decibel levels only, never raw audio.** Silencio Voice AI captures short voice and audio segments under **explicit, opt-in consent**, with anonymization safeguards applied throughout. There is no passive listening, no background recording, and no collection a contributor has not knowingly chosen.

### Privacy engineered in, not promised after

### How the data is actually made

Everything this document claims about Silencio's data, that it is consent-cleared, multilingual, field-sourced, and enterprise-grade, is produced by one system: the Silencio Voice AI platform. It is the deliberate, browser-based environment where people choose to contribute their voice and where raw human speech becomes model-ready datasets. **This is active, knowing participation, not passive capture.** Every recording is something a person chose to give.

### Consent and identity, captured at the source

Before a single recording, contributors complete a privacy-first onboarding that establishes both the diversity of the dataset and the legitimacy of the data. Contributors voluntarily provide demographic context, age range, gender, location, native and additional languages, under explicit consent, and consent itself is **granular and specific**: people authorize exactly which uses their data may serve, commercial TTS training, research, dataset distribution, and each authorization is recorded as an **immutable on-chain consent record**. This is what lets every dataset carry provable provenance under the EU AI Act, by construction rather than as an afterthought.

### Built for the long tail of human speech

The platform is engineered to capture the diversity no studio corpus holds. Contributors identify their language and regional dialect from a comprehensive, searchable database organized by region and language family, and specify their accent through **familiar cultural and geographic identifiers rather than technical linguistic labels**, with maps and audio samples to guide accurate selection. The result is correctly labeled coverage across thousands of languages and dialects, captured from real speakers rather than approximated from a handful.

### The contribution flow

Contributors choose how they participate: **scripted readings** for structured corpora, **spontaneous and conversational prompts** for natural dialogue, **commands and keywords** for assistants and robotics, and **live conversations**, real, recorded exchanges between contributors on the platform that capture genuine multi-speaker dialogue, turn-taking, and natural speech as it actually happens. Sessions flex from short contributions to extended ones, so participation does not require time or technical skill. Contributors specify their **recording environment**, quiet room, café, outdoors, with live audio-quality feedback, and where a dataset calls for it, the platform guides **expressive delivery** across emotional and stylistic registers. Throughout, contributors control how their recordings are tagged, in plain language, keeping labeling accurate and human.

Every contribution is paid. Contributors earn **USDC base pay** for accepted work, real, stable, withdrawable value, and every contribution also earns entries into **monthly $SLC raffles**, the upside layer that rewards consistent participation with ownership in the network. People are not data subjects here. They are paid, in real money, for building the asset.

### Quality: a three-layer validation pipeline

Field data is only valuable if it is reliable, so quality is enforced in three stages, and this pipeline is among Silencio's hardest assets to replicate. First, **automated AI validation** scores every submission for technical quality, pronunciation, and text-to-speech alignment, approving the clean and flagging the rest. Second, **native-speaker peer review** puts flagged recordings in front of community validators who verify pronunciation, cultural appropriateness, and linguistic authenticity in their own languages, the step no centralized lab can match at this language breadth. Third, **internal expert review** handles complex and edge cases. Underpinning all of it, a **reputation and trust-scoring system** tracks both validators and contributors over time, so accuracy compounds: trusted contributors earn faster approval, accurate validators earn weight, and the network's quality improves as it grows.

### Delivery: model-ready datasets, not raw files

What reaches a buyer is engineered for immediate use. Audio ships as **high-quality WAV at standardized sampling rates**, meeting the bar for commercial TTS development and academic research. Datasets are **precisely segmentable** by language, accent, demographic, environment, and data type, so buyers curate exactly the subset they need. Every file carries **enriched JSON metadata**, speaker demographics, linguistic detail, recording conditions, and technical properties, structured to drop straight into machine-learning pipelines. And critically, the platform delivers **authentic field recordings**, real-world environments rather than studio conditions, which is precisely the data that makes models robust where it counts.

### Transcription, by native experts

Transcription is where Silencio's quality separates from the field. Every recording is transcribed by **human transcribers who are native, expert speakers of the language**, not by automated speech-to-text, and not by generalists working in a language they do not live in. This is how you reach the highest standard across thousands of languages and dialects: a Swahili dataset transcribed by Swahili experts, a Tagalog dataset by Tagalog experts, people who hear the accent, the idiom, and the context a model and a foreign annotator both miss. Beneath the human layer, **forced alignment adds word-and-phoneme-level timing**, with precise timestamps and speaker markers, giving buyers transcription that is both linguistically authentic and machine-precise.

This is delivered with the data, not sold as an afterthought, so buyers receive **labeled, time-aligned, expert-transcribed voice**, training-ready on arrival. And Silencio offers the same expert transcription and validation as a **standalone service** to buyers who bring their own audio. The network that captures the world's voices also makes them legible to machines, in the languages no one else can staff.

Two notes. The USDC-plus-monthly-raffle model now appears here and in the token section, consistent by design, so if the raffle cadence ever changes it changes in both. And confirm one operational point for accuracy: the live conversation recordings, both speakers consent and both are paid, I have written it that way since it is the only defensible model, but if only the initiating contributor is paid, tell me and I will adjust the line.

Most data companies ask you to trust that consent was given. Silencio lets you verify it. Every meaningful action on the network is recorded on-chain, so both contributors and the buyers licensing their data can independently confirm that every dataset was collected with explicit, provable permission. This is the mechanism that turns Silencio's ethical principles into something a regulator can audit and a buyer can defend.

### How it works

When someone joins the network, they create a self-custodial wallet and a sensor account abstraction wallet through Particle Network by agreeing to the platform's terms. **The seed phrase is stored securely on the device and never leaves it.** From that point, the wallet issues verifiable, on-chain consent, powered by the Peaq Network, for each category of participation: **microphone access for voice contribution, deliberately granted, never assumed**, voice and audio contributions through Silencio Voice AI across scripted prompts, free speech, conversation, and commands, the environmental measurements behind Sound Check, and network actions such as raffles and bounties.

### What gets recorded

Each consent action is **immutably recorded on-chain, specifying the type of data authorized, the device ID, and the time of contribution.** The result is a tamper-proof audit trail tied to a non-identifying machine ID, the exact provenance the EU AI Act now demands, captured at the moment of contribution rather than reconstructed afterward. The same architecture holds whether a person contributes through the mobile app or through the browser-based Voice AI platform, which requires no download yet carries identical on-chain consent.

### Why it matters

For contributors, this is ownership made real: their permission is recorded, scoped, and theirs. For buyers, it is the difference between data they can deploy and data that becomes a liability the moment a regulator asks where it came from. As detailed in On-Chain Proof and Data Privacy in Depth, consent here is not a checkbox in a database Silencio could quietly alter. **It is a public record neither we nor anyone else can rewrite.**

The architecture behind the promise

Our Honest Data Approach states the principle. This section shows the machinery. Silencio is engineered so that privacy does not depend on policy or good intentions: **it is enforced by how the system is built**, layer by layer, from the first tap in the app to the moment a dataset reaches a buyer.

### What is captured, by product

For **Silencio Sound Check**, the network captures decibel-level measurements, dB(A), only. **Raw audio is never recorded, analyzed, or stored.** No conversation, no voice, no personal sound ever enters the system, which is also why aggregated noise data does not constitute personal data under GDPR Article 4(1).

For **Silencio Voice AI**, audio is captured only when a contributor explicitly opts in, recording by recording. Every contribution is anonymized, stripped of personal identifiers, and quality-checked through **AI-driven scoring for clarity, completeness, and noise, followed by human review**, producing datasets that are privacy-compliant and enterprise-grade in the same pass.

### Anonymous from the start

Contributors can participate under pseudonyms or non-identifiable emails. Identifiers are **hashed and stored separately from data streams**, so a contribution can never be walked back to a person. The network collects no names, no phone numbers, and no unnecessary personal data of any kind: **data minimization is the default, not a setting.**

Consent that is granular, plain, and revocable.

Consent is requested **dataset by dataset**, in plain language rather than legal jargon, and the app remains fully usable without any commercial data sharing at all. Contributors can view their contributions, revoke consent, or delete their data at any time. **No username or email is ever tied to raw data or visible to a buyer.** Every consent action is recorded on-chain, tied to a cryptographic machine ID and timestamp, creating the immutable audit trail described in **On-Chain Proof**, and giving every dataset the provenance the **EU AI Act** now demands of the companies that train on it.

### Privacy in commercialization

Silencio sells **aggregated datasets and anonymized training corpora, never individual-level data.** A buyer may license anonymized multilingual voice datasets or noise averages across a city. A buyer can never see an identifiable contributor history, because the system holds no link between identity and data to expose. Every partner, from AI labs and enterprises to governments and academic institutions, operates under **strict data use agreements** that bind how datasets may be used downstream.

### Compliance, precisely stated

Under **GDPR**, the network operates on Article 6(1)(b), contractual necessity, for core app function, and **Article 6(1)(a), explicit consent, for any commercial use of contributed data.** In the United States, the architecture is built for **CPRA, CPA, VCDPA, and the expanding family of state privacy frameworks.** Across all of it, six principles hold: **data minimization, the right to erasure, transparency, explicit consent for any microphone or location access, encrypted storage with strict access controls, and regular technical and legal audits** by external privacy and security specialists.

### A higher standard, on purpose

Combining verifiable consent, minimal collection, machine validation, and human oversight, Silencio sets the benchmark for what ethical audio data means in practice. Contributors are protected, paid, and in control. Buyers receive data they can defend to any regulator. **Privacy is not an add-on here. It is the protocol.**


# Database Backups and Encryption

We understand the importance of keeping user data safe and accessible. That is why we have robust backup practices in place, including the following:

* **Daily Backups:** We perform daily database backups to protect against potential data loss. These backups are stored on a separate server, ensuring availability even if the central system encounters an issue.
* **Encrypted Backups:** To enhance security, all backups are encrypted. This ensures that the data remains secure and unreadable if unauthorized access occurs.

### Auto-Scaling Strategy

The platform employs an auto-scaling strategy that automatically provisions additional computing resources based on real-time demand. As user activity increases, the infrastructure scales up to maintain performance. During low-traffic periods, it scales down to optimize cost efficiency. Silencio implements Amazon EKS to orchestrate containerized applications with enterprise-grade security and scalability. Container orchestration enables microservices architecture, efficient resource utilization, and seamless deployment workflows with rolling updates and blue-green deployments.

### ElasticCache (Redis)

Additionally, Redis powers the platform's real-time leaderboard system, leveraging its sorted sets data structure to efficiently manage and update user rankings, ensuring instant leaderboard updates and seamless competitive features across the network.

### Amazon CloudFront CDN

Amazon CloudFront provides global content delivery for Silencio's public-facing websites and static assets. With edge locations worldwide, CloudFront reduces latency by serving content from geographically closer servers to end users. The CDN automatically optimizes delivery of web assets, images, and API responses while providing additional security features including AWS Shield for DDoS protection and integration with AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF).

### Managed SQL Cloud Database

AWS RDS Database ensures reliable data handling with features such as automatic backups, updates, and scaling to meet database load. This minimizes downtime and maintains data integrity as user demand grows. Multi-AZ deployments provide automatic failover capabilities while read replicas enhance query performance and geographical data distribution.

### Amazon S3 File Storage

Amazon S3 provides scalable and secure file storage for Silencio's data ecosystem, supporting both hot and cold storage strategies. Hot storage using S3 Standard enables immediate access to frequently requested datasets and real-time analytics files with millisecond retrieval times. Cold storage S3 Glacier and S3 Deep Archive for long-term data retention and compliance requirements, automatically transitioning older data to cost-effective storage tiers while maintaining data durability and availability when needed.

### Strong Network Strategy

Bastion Host manages access to internal resources, restricting direct access to backend services from the public internet and thereby reducing the risk of unauthorized intrusion. VPC isolation, private subnets, and network ACLs create multiple layers of security while NAT gateways enable secure outbound connectivity for private resources.

### Observability and Alerts

Silencio has advanced monitoring and automated alerting systems to ensure real-time visibility into operations, enabling prompt responses to anomalies and the maintenance of optimal performance. CloudWatch metrics, custom dashboards, and automated alerting provide comprehensive visibility into application performance, infrastructure health, and business metrics with proactive incident detection.

### Testing

Unit and integration tests are a priority. We aim to have a standard industry coverage of > 80% for the backend. Automated testing pipelines include unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end testing with comprehensive code coverage reporting and quality gates that prevent deployment of untested code.

### CI/CD

We implement solid delivery pipelines and Secret Managers on AWS to ensure proper access to the credentials. Automated deployment workflows include code quality checks, security scanning, and staged deployments with rollback capabilities. AWS Secrets Manager provides secure credential management with automatic rotation and encryption at rest.

### Infrastructure as Code

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) helps us maintain better versioning of cloud resources and easily replicate environments. Terraform and AWS CloudFormation templates enable reproducible infrastructure deployments with version control, change tracking, and environment consistency across development, staging, and production environments.

### AWS GuardDuty

Continuously monitors and analyzes activity across the Silencio infrastructure to detect threats and anomalies, enhancing the security of data flows and cloud resources. Machine learning-powered threat detection identifies malicious activity, compromised instances, and cryptocurrency mining while integrating with AWS Security Hub for centralized security findings management.

These components ensure that Silencio's backend can handle increasing demand while safeguarding data and maintaining operational stability.


# Tokenomics

The core value of our network emerges from the synergistic contributions of our community members; indeed, the collective output significantly exceeds the sum of individual contributions. Our reward system is designed to recognize users for their cumulative impact on the network rather than for the specific datasets they submit. To operationalize this principle, smart contracts systematically disburse a predetermined token budget. These tokens, known as $SLC (Silencio Tokens) are allocated to users primarily based on their contributions to the network. These contributions are measured in in-app Coins.

## Disclaimer and Limitations

The following sections showcase the mechanisms behind the smart contract’s issuance of new tokens and the distribution framework employed to compensate network contributors.

The native cryptographically secure fungible protocol token of the Silencio Network (ticker symbol $SLC) is a transferable representation of attributed governance and utility functions specified within the Silencio Network’s protocol/code. It is designed exclusively as an interoperable utility token on the network.

$SLC is a functional multi-utility token that serves as the decentralized medium of exchange between participants on the Silencio Network. The primary purpose of $SLC is to facilitate a convenient and secure mode of payment and settlement between participants interacting within the Silencio ecosystem without reliance on intermediaries such as centralized entities or institutions. It is not intended to be a general medium of exchange for goods or services outside the Silencio Network, nor is it meant to be used as payment for goods or services unrelated to the issuer.

$SLC does not represent any shareholding, ownership, participation, right, title, or interest in the Silencio Network, its affiliates, or any other company or enterprise. Token holders are not entitled to any fees, dividends, revenue, profits, or investment returns, and $SLC is not intended to be classified as securities in any jurisdiction. $SLC is solely for use on the Silencio Network, and ownership grants no rights other than the ability to use $SLC to enable interaction within the network. The secondary market pricing of $SLC is independent of the Silencio team’s efforts, with no functionality or mechanisms to control or influence such pricing.

To clarify, neither the Silencio Network nor its affiliates buy or sell virtual assets or digital payment tokens (including $SLC). Any token sale or distribution occurs during a limited initial period to secure project development funds, raise market and brand awareness, and foster community engagement; this does not involve the repetitiveness or regularity that would constitute a business.

Moreover, $SLC provides economic incentives to reward users who contribute to and participate in the Silencio Network ecosystem. It creates a mutually beneficial system in which all participants are fairly compensated for their efforts. $SLC is a vital and indispensable part of the Silencio Network, as without it, there would be no incentive for users to dedicate resources toward participating in activities or providing services that benefit the entire ecosystem.

Additional $SLC is awarded to users based on their actual usage, activity, and contributions to the Silencio Network, with incentives proportional to the frequency and volume of transactions. Users not actively participating in the network do not receive $SLC incentives.

Where the previous sections describe a real business, millions of contributors, thousands of languages, paying customers among frontier labs and Fortune 100 companies, this section describes who captures the value: **the token, and the people who hold it.** $SLC is not a points system attached to an app. It is the settlement, reward, and ownership layer of the network itself.

### Demand: every dataset settles through the token

$SLC is the native currency of access to Silencio's data. Enterprises, labs, and researchers license the network's catalogue, off-the-shelf datasets, on-demand collection, transcription and validation, with **$SLC as the backbone of exchange and settlement.** Traditional buyers never need to touch crypto: fiat payments are converted to $SLC in the background, which means **every sale creates token demand regardless of how the customer chooses to pay.** As the data business grows, settlement volume grows with it, structurally, not speculatively.

### Supply: revenue buys the token back, and burns it

The mechanics are precise and conservative by design. **Silencio uses 75% of all platform revenue to buy back $SLC from the open market.** Of total platform revenue, **50% is burned permanently**, removing those tokens from supply forever, **25% is redirected to the Silencio Treasury** to fund long-term operations, grants, and liquidity initiatives, and **25% is retained by the company to fund operations.**

Every revenue stream feeds the engine: data sales of every kind, premium subscriptions, in-app advertising, marketplace purchases, and every future monetization channel the network adds. **Every dollar the ecosystem earns, from any source, strengthens the token.**

The program runs under one safeguard: **buybacks and burns execute as long as the company holds above 1 million USDC in cash reserves**, with everything above that threshold divided per the split. This floor exists so the deflationary engine can never compromise the solvency of the business that powers it. A burn program is only as valuable as the company's ability to sustain it, and this one is built to run **permanently, through every market condition, funded by real revenue rather than promises.**

Beyond the revenue loop, the network burns $SLC through its own mechanics: **unclaimed community tokens after raffle windows close, unstaking fees from early exits, early unlock penalties, and network fees** from in-app and on-chain activity. These burns reduce idle accumulation and reward committed participation, with their parameters subject to review by the Silencio team and any changes announced in advance.

### Staking: two paths, one network

## Rules

* 100 million prizes are distributed across categories (Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Amethyst, Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, and Diamond). The categories reflect different $SLC values per prize; any user can win any prize, regardless of their league. The more raffle tickets they collect, the higher the chances of winning.&#x20;

* Every user has the opportunity to win any prize — regardless of their league or the number of tickets they hold.

* Vesting and Lock-Up: There will be no lock-up period for $SLC tokens rewarded through the raffle system. However, a 30-day linear daily vesting schedule will apply from when the user claims the tokens.
* Eligibility: Participation in the monthly raffle is not guaranteed solely by engaging in measuring activities. Eligibility to receive tokens is subject to your country's regulatory requirements. If your county’s regulations do not permit participation in token airdrops, you will not be eligible to receive $SLC tokens. Please ensure compliance with your local laws before participating.
* Fairness: Users caught cheating will be permanently deleted from the network. The community has the right to report any suspicious activity anonymously through the Silencio App, and the Silencio team will make the final decision regarding user deletion. The $SLC from deleted users will be burned.&#x20;
* Staking: Users will have the opportunity to stake $SLC earnings obtained through the monthly raffle system. In return, they will significantly increase their chances of winning in future raffle draws.  (More information coming soon)

The number of individual prizes, the value of each prize, and the historic base raffle bonus are subject to change as the network evolves. Staking Bonus Calculation

* Bonuses apply equally to all users based on the percentage of the airdrop staked - regardless of the absolute $SLC amount.

#### Staking Eligibility

* All users are eligible to stake at any time.

#### Staking Limits

* The maximum stake per airdrop is equal to the amount of $SLC received in that specific raffle round.
* Users cannot stake more than what they earned in that airdrop.
* Bonus percentages apply percentually for all raffle periods, regardless of the stake size.

#### Restaking

* Once a stake concludes, it can be restaked under new conditions to prolong the OG bonus associated with that stake.

#### Stake Boost

* Users may increase the duration and/or allocation of any active stake.

**Example:**\
If a user initially staked 50% of their airdrop for 6 months, they can later “boost” this by increasing their allocation to 75% or 100%, and extending the commitment to a longer duration (e.g., 9 or 12 months). The new stake replaces the old one from that day on and applies the new bonus structure.

#### Important Notes

* Staked tokens are locked and cannot be withdrawn during the staking period.
* Future staking and OG bonuses are subject to change, but existing stakes will retain their original conditions.
* App wallets do not support direct deposits. $SLC can only be staked if received via the in-app raffle. If you withdraw your $SLC from the app, you cannot re-stake it - so be sure before initiating a withdrawal.

### What is Staking?

Staking is a mechanism that allows holders of the $SLC token to lock their tokens into the network for a certain period in order to support the ecosystem and, in return, potentially earn rewards. By staking SLC, participants signal their long-term commitment to the Silencio Network, help secure the system, and align with the project's vision of building a decentralized sound-data infrastructure.<br>

Unlike traditional staking models tied to consensus mechanisms, Silencio staking is designed to incentivize alignment, participation, and loyalty from the community and early supporters.<br>

### Why Stake?

Staking allows token holders to:

* Support the Silencio ecosystem by reducing the circulating supply
* Participate in future initiatives (e.g., community governance, exclusive data access, early feature testing)
* Earn rewards, determined and distributed at the discretion of the Silencio Foundation

Staking is not mandatory but provides a way for committed users and believers in the project to play a more active role in its development.<br>

### Rewards and Foundation Discretion

The Silencio Foundation will define and periodically adjust:

* The reward structure, which may include token incentives, multipliers for long-term lockups, and ecosystem perks
* The staking durations and lock-up options
* Any additional utilities or benefits granted to stakers (e.g., whitelisting, voting rights)

All parameters are subject to change and will be announced transparently through official channels. The foundation retains full discretion over the reward issuance schedule to ensure sustainability and alignment with long-term project goals.

Eoin King is a preeminent environmental acoustics expert specializing in strategic noise mapping and action planning. He holds a BAI in Mechanical Engineering, a Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics, and a PhD in Environmental Acoustics.

Eoin’s illustrious career includes positions on the European Commission’s Noise Expert Group and the Board of the Institute of Noise Control. As the Managing Editor of Noise/New International, he has contributed to over 70 peer-reviewed academic journal publications. Eoin also served on the Board of Directors of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering of the USA (INCE USA) from 2017–2021. During that time, he demonstrated his expertise by developing strategic noise maps for approximately 4,000 km of major roads in Ireland by Phase II of EU Directive 2002/49/EC.

In addition to his extensive professional accomplishments, Eoin held the prestigious role of Technical Chair of NOISE CON 2016, further solidifying his reputation as a leading authority in environmental acoustics.

Prof. Enda Murphy is Professor at University College Dublin, Ireland. His research interests centre on environmental noise modelling, mapping, and noise-health relationships having more than 20 years experience in noise mapping and modelling research. Prof. Murphy was technical advisor and co-author for the European Parliament’s Towards a Comprehensive Noise Strategy (2012) produced for the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Department. He was also appointed Scientific Advisor on the Future Brief: Noise Abatement Approaches (2017) document produced for the European Commission Directorate-General for Environment. He is currently the Co-PI (2022-2-24) on a project for Transport Infrastructure Ireland to develop a revised noise design standard for all new national roads in Ireland – the ANITA project. He is author/co-author of more than 110 academic journal papers, book chapters, conference papers and reports and is co-author of two books. One of those books is entitled Environmental Noise Pollution: Noise Mapping, Public Health and Policy (Elsevier) which has recently been published as a second edition (2022). In addition, he has published more than 45 peer reviewed papers specifically on environmental noise issues and strategic noise mapping specifically.

The native digital cryptographically-secured cryptocurrency of the Silencio Platform ($SLC Token) is a transferable representation of attributed functions specified in the protocol/code of the Silencio Platform, designed to play a major role in the functioning of the ecosystem on the Silencio Platform, and intended to be used solely as the primary utility and future governance token on the platform.
